ITS offers Pharos printer drivers for XP, Vista and Mac OS laptop computer users and for non-computer-lab computers. These drivers must be installed on your laptop or non-lab computer if you wish to use the Pharos printing solution services available in the computer labs on the UNO campus. NOTE: This service works ONLY on campus and requires your NetID to obtain the packages.
Print Solution Mac OS Drivers:
Installation instructions are provided (.pdf) for the Mac Pharos installation and configuration.
Print Solution Windows XP and Vista Drivers:
XP/Vista installation notes are noted below. Click on a printer name to download the appropriate printer driver to your laptop or non-lab computer. You may download and install as many drivers for the different labs as you require.
- BW=Black and White Printer
- C=Color Printer
XP/Vista Installation Notes:
- After you click on the printer name a box will open asking if you want to run, save or cancel. Choose 'Run.' If you then receive a security message, choose 'Run' again.
- In the 'Package Installer' box click 'Install.' The driver will download and install on your computer.
- When the package is successfully installed, click on 'Finish.' You can continue to use this as your default printer when printing to the particular location of the installed printer.
- When you get ready to print a document, and if you have installed more than one printer driver or other physical printer, you will first need to choose the printer queue where you want the document to be printed. Click 'OK' and the document will go to the queue for that particular printer.
- NOTE: installing these drivers will allow you to print to the appropriate printer, however, you will still have to physically go to the printer, swipe your MavCard, and release the print job in order to receive the printouts.
